Online Simultaneous Translation
Simultaneous translation for online events on any platform. Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex or other. Human or AI. Works with BYOD or physical receiver.
What is online simultaneous translation?
Simultaneous interpretation with Recall.ai integration is the service that combines automated audio capture from videoconferencing platforms with real-time human interpretation — Recall.ai captures the meeting's audio stream and lingo's human interpreter delivers the translation with a precision and context that no automatic system achieves.
Simultaneous interpretation — step by step
lingo does not depend on specific features of any platform. The interpreter connects as a participant and delivers the audio via BYOD, physical receiver or the platform's native channel — whichever works best for the event.
Participants use their own phone or a second computer to listen to the interpretation. No physical receiver, no logistics, no equipment cost.
For in-person events with an online component, lingo provides the physical receivers. The interpreter works remotely, and in-person participants listen on the receiver.
M&A, legal and board events: human interpreter. Webinars, trainings and high-volume events: lingo AI curated with 21 years of technical vocabulary.

How an online meeting with simultaneous interpretation works
In an online meeting, the interpreter connects as a participant and listens to the speaker through the same channel as everyone else. The interpretation is delivered on a separate audio channel, so each participant chooses to hear the original language or the translation, without interfering with the main audio. Because lingo does not depend on specific features of any platform, the format is the same on Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex and lesser-known platforms.
Before the event, the team does the set-up with the host, about 30 minutes ahead, and tests the audio with the speaker and the interpreter. This test confirms that the speaker's microphone reaches the interpreter clean, that the internet on both sides is stable and that the translation channel is available to participants. To understand the particularities of each platform, see the remote simultaneous interpretation and supported platforms pages.
BYOD, physical receiver or native channel: how to choose
BYOD is the simplest option: the participant listens to the interpretation on their own phone or on a second computer, while the meeting continues on the main screen. There is no receiver to hand out and no return logistics, and equipment cost is zero. It is the natural choice for webinars, trainings and meetings in which everyone is already connected.
The physical receiver makes sense when the event has an in-person part: participants in the room hear the translation on pocket receivers, while the interpreter works remotely. The platform's native channel, on the other hand, is recommended when the organizer wants to keep everything within the same tool. lingo recommends the format that works best for the event and confirms the choice with the organizer at the time of the quote.
Hybrid events and alternative platforms
At hybrid events, part of the audience is in the room and part follows online. lingo sets up the physical receivers for those present and the interpretation channel on the platform for those remote, with the same interpreter serving both audiences. See the hybrid events guide for details on each format.
Webinars on platforms such as StreamYard and Riverside, meetings on customers' proprietary platforms and events on several platforms at the same time are also served. The logic is the same: the interpreter connects, listens and delivers the audio through whatever means the event allows, and technical support is independent of the platform.
Human interpreter or AI: a simple criterion
The choice between a human interpreter and AI depends on what is at stake. In M&A, due diligence, shareholder meetings, litigation and board meetings with investors, every word has a financial or legal consequence, and the human interpreter is the recommended option. In webinars, trainings and launch events, where volume is high, lingo's AI, curated by an interpreter with 21 years of experience, serves at a lower cost. See the remote AI interpretation page.
To hire, state the date, language pair, modality and number of participants in the automatic quote. The quote amount is the final invoice amount. The page on how much simultaneous interpretation costs in SP explains the price factors.
Frequently asked questions
Does lingo work on any videoconferencing platform?+
Yes. lingo does not depend on specific features of any platform. It works on Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex, BlueJeans, Whereby, StreamYard, Riverside, Hopin and any other — including proprietary platforms.
What is BYOD and how does it work for simultaneous translation?+
BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) means the participant uses their own phone or a second computer to listen to the interpretation. While the meeting runs on the main computer, the phone connects to a separate audio channel with the interpreter's voice.
Is special interpretation equipment needed?+
Not necessarily. BYOD removes the need for a physical receiver. For in-person events or when the client prefers a professional receiver, lingo provides the equipment.
What is the difference between online and in-person simultaneous translation?+
In the online format, the interpreter works remotely and participants listen via the platform or BYOD. In the in-person format, the interpreter is physically at the event in an ISO booth and participants use pocket receivers. lingo offers both.

lingo uses AI as a support tool, not a replacement. Technical vocabulary in M&A, regulation and medicine requires human judgment — AI still makes mistakes on specialized terms.

How to hire — quote in 60 seconds
Contact us via WhatsApp (+55 11 97534-6423) or through the calculator at lingo.com.br/orcamento. State the date, language pair, format (RSI or in-person UHF) and number of participants. lingo replies with a complete proposal in 60 seconds — confirmed interpreter, equipment (if in person), technical operator and logistics included, with no hidden items.
Alex Barros requests the event deck and agenda 48 hours in advance to prepare the technical glossary specific to the event — proprietary company terms, industry acronyms, product names and internal metrics that do not appear in dictionaries. For recurring engagements, the glossary accumulates session after session. After 12 months of monthly boards, the interpreter knows the company's internal vocabulary as well as any senior executive.
For RSI (Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex): setup 30 minutes before with the host, no physical equipment, no freight cost. For in-person (UHF): installation 60–90 minutes before, portable soundproof booth, on-site technical operator. For hybrid: both formats in parallel. Lingo Qi Interpretações LTDA (CNPJ 53.834.741/0001-34) issues an electronic invoice for all events and accepts payment by TED, PIX or international transfer in BRL.
Documented portfolio with verifiable engagements
lingo has operated exclusively in the premium corporate market for 21 years. There are no academic, government, religious or entertainment events in the portfolio. That exclusive specialization produced a depth of vocabulary that generalist interpreters cannot replicate: 2,233 terms across 24 sectors and 16 language pairs, accumulated in real engagements — not in theoretical study.
Documented cases with named clients and verifiable contexts: XP Investimentos IPO on NASDAQ (US$14.9B, 2019), CMA CGM × Santos Brasil (R$6.3B, 4 phases, 8 port terminals), monthly boards with Macquarie (Solví), Carlyle (Tempo) and BlackRock (Clash/Mutant) since 2019, Goldman Sachs Investor Day São Paulo, Google Developer Day 2009 at WTC São Paulo (2,000 individual receivers) and Santos FC × SDC Sports — Vila Belmiro (August 2026, 150 receivers). No PE fund with fiduciary obligations to its LPs would rehire an interpreter who delivers below expectations. Recurring engagements are the only reliable credential in this profession.
