Simultaneous Interpretation by Platform (RSI)
▶ QUICK SUMMARY
lingo operates RSI on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex and hybrid solutions with in-person UHF — same interpreter, same glossary, same quality standard on any platform.
Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI) is simultaneous interpretation without physical equipment — the interpreter joins the call as a designated participant, and participants select the language in the app. lingo has operated RSI on all major videoconferencing platforms with documented monthly mandates since 2019.
FAQ
Which platform is best for RSI?
Zoom has the most mature implementation. Teams Premium is ideal for organizations already in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. All platforms offer equivalent quality when configured correctly.
Which Zoom plan is required for RSI?
Pro, Business or Enterprise. Language Interpretation in Settings → Language Interpretation → Enable.
Does lingo operate RSI and UHF simultaneously at the same event?
Yes — for hybrid events with in-person (UHF) and remote (RSI) participants. lingo configures both channels in parallel.
Does RSI work for participants who don't have the app installed?
Zoom and Teams work via browser in limited mode. For best RSI experience, we recommend the installed app on the participant's device.
Does lingo test the interpretation channel before the event?
Yes — always. Alex Barros or the lingo interpreter tests the channel with the host 30 minutes before any RSI event.
