Simultaneous Translation on Google Meet

Simultaneous translation for Google Meet meetings. Human or AI interpretation in real time. Simple, no plugins, works with any Google account.

What is simultaneous translation on Google Meet?

Simultaneous interpretation via Google Meet is the real-time translation service for meetings in the Google Workspace ecosystem — using Google Meet's language interpretation feature, participants select the language channel and hear the translation in real time without interrupting the main audio.

How it works

Simultaneous interpretation — step by step

01
Direct connection as a participant

The lingo interpreter connects to Meet as a participant with a microphone dedicated to the target language. Participants receive the audio through a second Meet channel or through a BYOD receiver.

02
Compatible with Google Workspace

Works with any Google Meet account — Free, Business Starter, Business Plus and Enterprise. No additional IT setup.

03
Native BYOD mode

Participants who need interpretation use their own phone as a receiver — opening a second Meet with the interpreter's channel in the background.

04
15 languages available

English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Mandarin, Japanese, Arabic, Russian, Dutch, Hebrew, Hindi, Korean, Vietnamese and Indonesian.

Human or AI — which to choose?

lingo offers both services. The choice depends on how critical the event is.

Human Interpreter

For critical events

M&A, due diligence, shareholder meetings, litigation, board meetings with investors. Every word has financial or legal consequences.

  • ✓Maximum technical accuracy
  • ✓Real-time adaptation to context
  • ✓21 years of financial and legal vocabulary
lingo AI

For volume events

Webinars, corporate training, launch events, informational shareholder meetings. High volume, lower cost, supervised quality.

  • ✓Curated by an interpreter with 21 years of experience
  • ✓15 simultaneous languages
  • ✓Unlimited participant scale

BYOD mode on Google Meet: step by step

In BYOD mode, which stands for bring your own device, the participant who needs the interpretation uses their own phone as a receiver. They follow the main meeting on the computer and open, on the phone, a second Meet with the interpreter's channel, which stays in the background. Headphones help avoid echo between the two channels, and lingo sends the instructions to the organizer before the event so they can pass them on to the guests.

Google Workspace accounts and IT setup

The service works on any Google Meet account, whether free, Business Starter, Business Plus or Enterprise, with no additional IT setup. The lingo interpreter joins the meeting as a participant, with a microphone dedicated to the target language, and the organizer does not need to ask the technology department for a license change. This makes Meet a practical option for companies that invite external clients and partners.

Meetings with participants outside Brazil

For remote simultaneous interpretation, the participants' location does not matter. A Meet meeting can bring together people in São Paulo, Lisbon and New York, and the interpreter works from wherever they are, as long as they have a good connection and suitable headphones. To avoid surprises, lingo tests the audio 30 minutes ahead with the organizer, which includes the connection of the participants who are in another country. The page on remote simultaneous interpretation details the format.

When Meet is the best choice

Meet is usually the choice of companies that already work with Google Workspace and hold product meetings with global teams, training sessions with international facilitators, due diligence interviews with investors, webinars for clients abroad, and legal and compliance meetings. If the company uses Microsoft 365, the page on simultaneous translation on Teams shows the alternative, and the one on Zoom covers the third most common case.

Lead time, glossary and quote for Google Meet events

Alex Barros asks for the event deck and the agenda 48 hours in advance to prepare the technical glossary, and the sooner these materials arrive, the more precise the terminology becomes. In processes under NDA, lingo signs the agreement, valid for 5 years, before receiving any document. The quote amount is the final invoice amount, and the page on how much simultaneous interpretation costs in SP explains the price factors. For events that mix platforms, see also the page on remote simultaneous interpretation.

Yes. lingo does not depend on Meet's premium features. The interpreter connects like any other participant.

How to hire — quote in 60 seconds

Contact us via WhatsApp (+55 11 97534-6423) or through the calculator at lingo.com.br/orcamento. State the date, language pair, format (RSI or in-person UHF) and number of participants. lingo replies with a complete proposal in 60 seconds — confirmed interpreter, equipment (if in person), technical operator and logistics included, with no hidden items.

Alex Barros requests the event deck and agenda 48 hours in advance to prepare the technical glossary specific to the event — proprietary company terms, industry acronyms, product names and internal metrics that do not appear in dictionaries. For recurring engagements, the glossary accumulates session after session. After 12 months of monthly boards, the interpreter knows the company's internal vocabulary as well as any senior executive.

For RSI (Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex): setup 30 minutes before with the host, no physical equipment, no freight cost. For in-person (UHF): installation 60–90 minutes before, portable soundproof booth, on-site technical operator. For hybrid: both formats in parallel. Lingo Qi Interpretações LTDA (CNPJ 53.834.741/0001-34) issues an electronic invoice for all events and accepts payment by TED, PIX or international transfer in BRL.

Documented portfolio with verifiable engagements

lingo has operated exclusively in the premium corporate market for 21 years. There are no academic, government, religious or entertainment events in the portfolio. That exclusive specialization produced a depth of vocabulary that generalist interpreters cannot replicate: 2,233 terms across 24 sectors and 16 language pairs, accumulated in real engagements — not in theoretical study.

Documented cases with named clients and verifiable contexts: XP Investimentos IPO on NASDAQ (US$14.9B, 2019), CMA CGM × Santos Brasil (R$6.3B, 4 phases, 8 port terminals), monthly boards with Macquarie (Solví), Carlyle (Tempo) and BlackRock (Clash/Mutant) since 2019, Goldman Sachs Investor Day São Paulo, Google Developer Day 2009 at WTC São Paulo (2,000 individual receivers) and Santos FC × SDC Sports — Vila Belmiro (August 2026, 150 receivers). No PE fund with fiduciary obligations to its LPs would rehire an interpreter who delivers below expectations. Recurring engagements are the only reliable credential in this profession.
